I’m alive and tired. Not dead, not otherwise indisposed, just had to travel back to KL and then somehow gather up the energy to reassure everyone that I am still functional.
Anyway I had a heart scan yesterday. It was very calming. The room was dimly lit, the aircon was on and I had a nice bed to lie on. I pretty much dozed off even though they were running a hard, cold metal probe over my chest. So far they haven’t found any fluid buildup, so I guess I’m clear on that regard.
In the evening my mum and I boarded a bus back to KL, and we arrived at midnight. The combination of travel boredom as well as the various aches and pains that visit me after a chemo session meant that I went straight to bed, aided by my new prescription painkillers and a sedative. Fun, I scored a sedative!
It’s pretty damn powerful – I woke up at 11am today, so I slept for 10 hours or so. There are no newspapers to be had – we no longer have it delivered in the morning, since there’s no one around to read it. Basically I spend the day eating, going online, and sleeping.
I’ve missed my bed! This time I have it all to myself, no sister messing up the room, no one insisting on having the air-con on. It’s a very firm bed, and the pristine pink bedsheets (yay so girly) are soon festooned with a few more escaped hairs. I’d spend all day in bed if I could, but then I would really turn into a tub of jelly.
I have to head out to Damansara Specialist Hospital tomorrow for a blood test as requested by my consultant. I hope the staff there are familiar with PICC lines, I mean here’s a great tap in my vein for you to take blood, please don’t stick needles into me! Venepuncture is no fun for everyone involved. My friend, who is a medical student, says finding the vein is more stressful for her than for the patient. I feel your pain, man.
Okay time to go off and compile my food hitlist. Noodles, prepare for your doom!
